Cheese Piercing > Side Piercing

These Horizontal Type Machines are designed for cheeses such as Stilton and other cheeses (Blue Shropshire etc) that have similar dimensions (up to 235mm diameter x 245mm tall). The two opposing banks of Piercing Needles (up to 9 needles on each side) are mechanically operated independently of the indexing of the cheese table. This pattern can be varied independently to give many combinations of different piercing speeds and indexes per revolution. Individual needles can be removed easily and replaced. Various alternative diameters of needle are available to suit your preferred requirements.

Where it is required to pierce the end of the cheese, an optional manually operated End Piercing Tool incorporating a Stripper Plate can be fitted
  • Designed for Stilton cheese manufacture on a small / medium scale.
  • Piercing of both the side and top and bottom of the cheese. Number of side piercings can be preset by the maintenance staff.
  • Design can be modified to accommodate virtually any size of cheese.
